County Players in Furness, the second in an occasional series of Lancashire CCC postcard monographs, recalls the time two 20-year-old University-educated amateurs, KS Duleepsinhji and ERT Holmes, played for a Lancashire County XI which included Jack Iddon, Ted McDonald, and Frank Watson. The match was organised to celebrate the opening of a new cricket pavilion at the ground of Dalton Cricket Club in Cumberland, and the booklet features a short account of the day’s events, during which Duleepsinhji scored an unbeaten 70 and the legendary Australian fast bowler McDonald took 7/55.
