The first in an occasional series featuring interviews with famous Lancashire cricketers, the ‘Life Story of Albert Ward’ was published in The Sporting Chronicle on 18 July 1916. Interviewed by the eminent sports journalist “Tityrus,” the Lancashire and England batsman Ward recollects his early cricket career and reminisces on past glories, including tales of Mr. A.E. Stoddart’s Ashes tour of Australia in the winter of 1894-95.
