The fifth in a series of short-run, limited edition monographs recollecting Red Rose cricket records, this publication recalls the match played at The Saffrons ground, Eastbourne, between Sussex and Lancashire on 11, 12, 13 July 1907. The county championship match saw Les Poidevin (128*) and Alec Kermode (52), Australians both, add a record 142 for the ninth-wicket in Lancashire’s first innings, a partnership record that, surprisingly, still stands over a century later.
